Obituary of Judy Stokes Gervais

Judy Ann Stokes Gervais, aged 79, was a caring wife, sister, aunt and friend. She peacefully passed from this life to her heavenly home on September 22, surrounded by her devoted husband and loving family.

Judy was born March 1,1943 in Pennsylvania but grew up in Atlanta, GA. Judy learned how to be a strong entrepreneur by watching her grandmother, Marjorie Bowman run her successful restaurant, Aunt Fanny’s Cabin in Smyrna GA. Judy later opened her own company, Organization Management, which she successful owned and operated for over 30 years.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Felix Gervais, her sisters; Jane Stokes Farmer and Jo Beasley (Jack), and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins who loved and adored her.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the Winship Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 1328 Peachtree St. Atlanta, GA 30309.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Judy's family and close friends. May God's peace be with all.

Judy and I went to Spring Street Elementary School, Grady, University of Ga for one year, and then transferred and graduated from Oglethorpe University. She was a very special friend that not only supported me and my kids, but also my grandkids.  When I was living in Dalton, she and Felix drove to attend a bruch for my son, his wife, and my first grandchild. She always had a smile, and her faith was her strength and guide along with Felix's love. I think of her often and miss her dearly.

Thinking about Judy at Spring Street reminds me of how close all of us  were to each other's families. Years later, her sister Jane and I both lived in Kentucky and when we ran into each other, we had an immediate connection because Judy and I knew each other from the third grade on. My thoughts are with her family -- and in a way, we are all her family.

I actually saw Judy on my last trip back to Atlanta. There are no coincidences, there was actually a connection for her in our town of Lafayette, CA. Judy was definitely a sweet person and has many friends outside of Grady High School who will miss her dearly.
