As many of you are aware from John's E-Mail last week, Coach Harry B. Strickland died last Tuesday, August 23, 2011. I attended the Funeral was held in Hiawassee, Georgia on Saturday, August 23, 2011 at 3:00 pm. Also attending was Jerry Davis and Pete Kelly ('64), "Judy Kelly" Pittman's" Brother, who were both at the Reunion (so was Jerry). It was a very nice Service and you could tell that the Congregation thought highly of Coach Strickland and think very highly of Mrs. Strickland, who is unfortunately bedridden and in very poor health.

Most of you will remember that the Stricklands were married during our Freshman Year, 1958. The Brandt's lived in Ansley Park on Polo Drive across the Street from McClatchey Park. Some of you might remember Sara's Brother, Eddie, who played various sports and Graduated in 1957. Coach Strickland ran the YMCA Camp Pioneer during the Summer, which was in Hiawassee (Presley, GA). I attended Camp Pioneer as a Camper and then later was on the Staff.
