I remember Diane as the quintessential Majorette. I never knew her well, but in addition to marching with the band and twirling her baton (fire?? - don't know, but maybe) I also remember her playing the marimba in all the school talent shows. I was very impressed! After graduating from GA State, I worked at Eastern Airlines with her mother, whom I actually came to know better than I did Diane. It saddened me to know that Diane had died so young.
Diane and I both attended SM Inman and Grady, so I knew her for a long time, but not well. She was always interested in performing and playing the marimba was someting she did for a long time. I think she lived on Virginia Avenue because I have a vague memory of once visiting her there.
