Carolyn Byrum Medley

Carolyn Byrum Medley, 68, of Dawsonville, GA went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2012. She has battled cancer for 25 years. Born in Greensboro, GA Carolyn was the daughter of the late Claude and Pearlie Mae Byrum. Carolyn was an active member of First Baptist Church of Cumming, where she was a member of the Advocate Sunday School Class. She was also involved in the Ruth Reed Woman On Mission Group at the church. Carolyn is survived by her beloved husband, Jim Medley of Dawsonville, GA; cherished children, Holly Jones (John) Reinhardt of Dawsonville, GA, Greg (Kim) Scott of Dawsonville, GA and Todd (Kim) Medley of Cumming, GA; sister, Patricia Coody of East Point, GA; brother, C. G. Byrum of Ivy, GA; and much loved grandchildren, Justin (Vanessa) Jones, Nicholas Jones, Kale Scott, Kyle Scott, Allison Scott, Logan Medley and Briana Burrell. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 27, 2012 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. Dr. Bob Jolly will officiate. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at the funeral home. I felt so sad when I got John's email about Carolyn's passing. She was such a sweet girl and was in the Sparks social club with me. I think the photo of her in the AJC today is beautiful.
