KINNEY, Jerry Colin Jerry Colin Kinney passed away on Saturday, August 13th, 2016 at his home in Roswell, GA. Jerry was born February 8th, 1943, the ninth of ten children. He was a Christian and member of Morningside Baptist Church in Atlanta. Jerry attended Grady High School, where he received Varsity Letters in Golf awarded by the Georgia Athletic Department. He was married to his beloved wife, Nancy Lee Cook Kinney and spent 50 years together raising 3 children. He was a devoted husband and dedicated father, a loving brother & loyal friend. Jerry retired from a long building career where he built several homes all over Georgia along with Don Millen, a very special family friend along with his wife, Starr Millen. Jerry had the strength to overcome his stroke disablement at the young age of 43 and did not let it define him or his life. Some of his favorite things to do was getting the mail every day, gardening, watering the flowers, watching the birds dine, sweeping the driveway & shopping for cars. He loved going to garage sales all summer long looking for treasures to add to his collection, mostly golf clubs and anything made of copper. He was artistic & creative and enjoyed painting, making beautiful mosaics & many other masterpieces. His life and heart was full of beautiful colors. Jerry is survived by his 3 children, Donna Elaine Kinney, Cynthia Anne Kinney & Anthony Robert Kinney & special daughter-in-law, Saira Matikeeva Kinney, grandchildren, great grandchildren along with his sisters, Anne K. Morecock, Lavalle Merrifield, Mary Hay, Peggy Sue Webb, sister-in- law Peggy R. Kinney and a host of nieces, nephews & many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at SouthCare Cremation & Funeral Society, 2260 Old Milton Pkwy., Alpharetta, GA Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 19th at 11:00am at SouthCare Cremation & Funeral Society, Alpharetta, GA Interment at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA.
