  • Chester "Chet" Parver,78, passed away at home, surrounded by loved ones, on February 9, 2023.

Chet was born in Atlanta, GA to Meyer (Mike) and Elsie (Buddie) Parver. After graduating from Henry Grady High School, Chet moved to San Diego, California where he served in the US Navy for 4 years as a photographer. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he was a member of AETT at Georgia Tech and graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering and then continued his education by achieving an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University.

Throughout his life, Chet loved music, photography, bowling, disc golf, and Bonsai trees (which he had about 300) that he worked on. He & his wife loved to travel, never making reservations, driving across the country 5 or 6 times, Canada and Alaska (all from Atlanta), cruises and abroad. Chet, an incredibly intelligent man, was an avid reader, often reading two books at a time. As a member of North Atlanta Men's Club, Chet was always ready to join a spirited debate.

Chet is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Clarice and his daughter, Analisa, and son-in-law Frank DuCille; grandchildren, Devin, Derek, and Olivida duCille (who lovingly called Chet “Grumpy”); brother, Michael Parver; and nieces, Shana and Kelly, Gary and Bonnie Richman and nephews Brian and Craig.

A graveside service was held for Chet, February 13, 2023 at Greenwood Cemetery.

I have not seen Chester in many years, but have fond memories of him from the past.  It is good to know he had such a good life.  May our Lord bless his family with comfort as they grieve.
