After Mercer University and basketball I went to Medical College of Ga, then Orthopedic Surgery in Houston, extra training in 1974 in S Francisco in lower extremity and sports medicine. Medical practice in Houston from 74-2011 with lots of patients, athletes, dancers, students, fellows, articles, books, etc
High point of my career came when I hit a bucket of water which was catching rain water during a fast break and the U of Ga band played "Dixie" My man scored! It was worth it to hear the band play "Dixie"
Low point was after I got hit in the ear by a 6'8" 230 lb guy at Florida Southern. I called time out, the coach got furious for using a time out, and he said "Get your Ass back in the game....everyone doesnt love you as much as your mother!" That was a low point when I realized everyone didnt love me as much as my mother!

Grady was in the state tournament at Ga Tech There were 5-6000 screaming fans. At half time Coach Skelton kept telling us that he would show us a play where one man was open every time....I repeatedly tried to raise my hand and comment on the play. He told me not to interrupt him at this critical time....the siren sounded to start the second half. Coach Skeleton said "what do you want?" I said "Coach, you have 6 offensive players and 5 defensive" He said "Ah Hell, just go run the same plays as first half!"
